Stories East & West
Directed by renowned storyteller, photographer and performer William Yang and producer/writer Annette Shun Wah.
Six storytellers confront their family skeletons to flesh out the stories of the here and now. Accompanied by images from private collections, they reveal engaging and moving insights into family, identity, ambition, confusion and determination. Featuring Daphne Lowe Kelley, Joy Hopwood, Paul Cordeiro, Mary Tang, Mai Long, Teik-Kim Pok and Sunil Badami. Stories East & West has played at Belvoir and Riverside Theatres and will play at Zenith Theatre, Chatswood in September 2012.

COOLie
COOLie is a unique showcase of Asian-Australian storytelling and performance. The inaugural season took place at Belvoir St Downstairs Theatre on 1-13 Feb, 2011. Comprising three shows:
Meeting at Moree - Chinese Australian meets Indigenous Australia through the stories of William Yang and Noeline Briggs-Smith
Stories East & West - six storytellers link Asia and Australia, past and present, family and personal aspiration. Directed by William Yang and Annette Shun Wah
About Face - from mini-skirted vixens to big pants percussion, and searing torch song to a genuine 70s guitar hero. Les Gock, Paul Cordeiro, Lena Cruz, Suara Indonesia Dance and comedians Jennifer Wong and Oliver Phommavanh address turn expectations 180 degrees. Directed by Lisa Freshwater.

Story Telling Workshops
Performance 4a’s Story Telling Workshops, led by William Yang, were a great success. A small invited audience joined us at Gallery 4A in Sydney, to be entertained and inspired by six highly personal and compelling narratives linking East and West, past and present. Congratulations to participants Joy Hopwood, Daphne Lowe Kelley, Derrick Siu, Gary Shinfield, Annette Shun Wah and Mary Tang. More workshops are planned in July 2012.
