The Multicultural Arts Forum 2012 took place at Carriageworks in Sydney on 13-14 April. It offered an impressive line up of speakers and panelists, and proved a fantastic networking opportunity. Highlights included the Keynote Speech by FECA Chair, Pino Migliorino and a very entertaining panel on Industry Development where Cultural Infusion's Peter Mousaferiadis managed to link cultural collaboration with gout!. Devi Mahatmyam at Riverside
Lingalayam Dance Company marks its 25th anniversary this year. In the first of its performances for 2012, be entranced by Devi Mahatmyam: Manifestations of the Goddess - an exquisite evening of classical Indian Dance and Music, performed by Kunthavai, a senior student of Lingalayam, accompanied by an international orchestra, with choreography and direction by Anandavalli. One night only - 6pm Sun 22 April at Parramatta Riverside .

Yumi Umiumare's EnTrance
Yumi Umiumare’s critically-acclaimed solo performance EnTrance comes to the Performance Space in Sydney, showcasing her unique blend of butoh, cabaret and devised performance amidst a mesmerising succession of large-scale video projections, electronic costumes, and installation. EnTrance explores the Japanese metaphor of the ‘near shore’ of life and the ‘far shore’ of death, drawing audiences into the ‘crack’— the moment of transformation where the spirit and the body are propelled into another world or existence. Until 21 April. Tickets $30/$15.

Sneak Peek at Khoa Do's New film
Khoa Do's latest film is the second in a trilogy of refugee films. Falling for Sahara is about three AFL-mad African teenagers living in housing commission flats in Flemington, Melbourne, who all fall for the same beautiful girl. Khoa Do directed the film, and co-wrote it in collaboration with his cast of actors, recently arrived refugees from Ethiopia, Eritrea, Sudan and Somalia. Due for release in 2012, watch the trailer now.
