Guy Said to the Universe
This the working title of Martin Jose Ponferrada's suburban, humanist drama exploring the fractured dynamics of a group of petty criminals when their leader goes missing. Major themes of loyalty, Catholic guilt and macho posturing have been grounded into the one hundred and ten page screenplay. The young director has cited the films of John Cassavetes, Martin Scorsese and Robert Altman as his major aesthetic influences. Rehearsals and principal photography have been underway since May, with an eclectic cast of mainly Filipino descent.
