The Slap
Tony Ayres takes on multiple behind the scenes roles on the 8-part TV adaptation of Christos Tsiolkas' bestseller, The Slap. Ayres is co-producer, script supervisor, and one of four directors on the series, which premiered on ABC-TV on October 6. An impressive culturally diverse cast. The series has been sold to the BBC.

Asian Australian Film Forum
The inaugural Asian Australian Film Forum took place in Melbourne on 12-13 November, and what an event it was! Lively discussions about the future of Asian Australian film making, plentiful networking opportunities, a variety of screenings and a great gathering of the tribes. Star gazers would have been impressed with attendance by Chris Pang, Andy Minh Trieu, PJ Madam, Ferdinand Hoang, Susanna Qian, Annette Shun Wah and film makers Heng Tang, Min Tran, Maria Tran, Jiao Chen and Corrie Chen amongst others. Big congrats to the forum convenors.
