Asian Australian collaboration never looked so cool! Congratulations to the team behind the 2009 OzAsia Festival Adelaide. Over 17,000 locals gathered for the opening event, the Moon Lantern Festival in Elder Park, hosted by Performance 4a's Annette Shun Wah. There were packed houses for performances including the Guangzhou Acrobatic Troupe, Taikoz, the Akram Khan Company, the Australian Art Orchestra with the Sruthi Laya Ensemble, and Yumi Umiumare. stories make an impact
Performance 4a's Story Telling event for the Chinese Heritage Association of Australia on 8 Nov was a success. Audience members were deeply moved and entertained by the 6 performers Joy Hopwood, Teik-Kim Pok, Brad Pham, Mary Tang, Mai Long and Daphne Lowe Kelley, whose stories were developed through workshopping with William Yang. The response was so enthusiastic, Performance 4a is exploring avenues to repeat the event for a wider audience. Watch this space!

Congratulations to writer/director/DOP Warwick Thornton and producer Kath Shelper whose extraordinary film, Samson & Delilah won Best Feature Film from a very impressive field at the 2009 Asia
Pacific Screen Awards on November 26. Following on the heels of the Camera D'or at Cannes earlier in the year, Samson & Delilah looks set to collect more gongs during the film awards season. Congratulations also to Adam Elliot and Melanie Coombes who won Best Animated Feature for Mary and Max, adding to an already bulging trophy cabinet.

volatile and eclectic suburban party-planning committee. Amidst the inevitable sea of team-dysfunction, revelations
emerge, friendships are mended and relationships deteriorate.

Wells Global Dance Contest.The
Tank Man Tango was devised as a moving memorial staged on the 20th anniversary of
the crushing of pro-democracy protests in Tiananmen Square in 1989.The winning video was [1875] Ravel and Bolero by Taiwan's Shu-Yi Chou.
