On June 4 performers in 20 cities around the world danced the Tank Man Tango to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the crushing of the pro-democracy protest in Tiananmen Square.  This memorial of dancing bodies was devised by Sydney artist Deborah Kelly and choreographed by Jane McKernan.  Teik Kim Pok - who performs the Tango in the instructional video on www.forget2forget.com - was among the 70 dancers who performed on the steps of the Sydney Opera House for 90 minutes.

Young people aged 15-24 are invited to participate in a free improvisation and comedy weekend intensive workshop, the Jokers Jam, hosted by the Wareabouts performance program and Powerhouse Youth Theatre . Training activities will be led by community facilitators and performers: theatre artist Andy Ko, actor/professional clown Lauren Maher and “My Place” ABC TV actor Maria Tran. Sydney based independent theatre company Subtlenuance is seeking two actors of Asian appearance for their production of Katie Pollock's A Quiet Night in Rangoon.  Set in Rangoon, Burma in 2007, this is a play about negotiating the complexities of a political situation that must change.  The production runs 18 Aug to 10 Sep and all creatives, cast and crew will share in the profits.  They seek a male actor (stage age early 20s) and a female actor (stage age late teens).
